Being a mom and a wife turned me into something different. For me, if you become a mom, you will suddenly care for your health coz you want to be with your child until he or she grows old. It’s the same way for your husband.
I suddenly cared for my health, not so me if you look at me maybe 4 to 6 years ago. Now, as I watch my daughter grows, I want to be with her for many years. I want to guide her and teach her the things she needs. Although I am not the perfect teacher when it comes to lessons and perceptions in life, I still want to share with her the lessons I have learned as I ventured into the different paths in my life.
You may not see me worry now, because I don’t want to think about the things that are yet to come or to be discovered. I just pray to God that He knows better than I do so whatever plans He has lined up in my life, thy will be done.
I want to have a healthy life because I don’t want my daughter to carry all the pain of seeing her mother suffer because of an illness. I also don’t want my husband to be hurt. I want my whole family to be healthy so that we can be together for years.

That is such a good reminder to take care of our health – it’s for a good reason, not just appearances. It’s being a good steward of the life we’ve been given. I think I am still in that “invincible” phase of life when it comes to thinking about my health but definitely want to pay more attention, especially to what I eat and how I treat my body. I’ve been more concerned about dental health too after experiencing my first cavities. Don’t want me kids to go through that. I came across this great resource – the Mom’s Guide to Caring for Little Teeth (http://www.1dental.com/moms-guide/) and it has given some practical info for both my newborn and 4 year old son.
