Ria will soon turn 31 months.  It’s so fast, dati lang super liit niya.  Super kulit din ni bulilit, and every day she’s making sure we experience her terrible two stage.

Milestones

She’s totally toilet trained, thank God.  We had to dispose her excess diapers.  It came so fast and swift.  We started training her I think 3 months ago by removing her diaper every morning but will wear one during her nap.  After a month or so, we only let her on diaper during bedtime.  We check her diaper every morning for pee, so when we agreed we’ll remove her diaper at night, we just prayed to God that she’ll not wet the bed.  Thank goodness hindi pa nangyayari.  What we do, after brushing her teeth, she has to pee.  She knows her routine, if I forgot she has to pee, she’ll remind me she has to.

She can also eat by herself (a bit) but after few minutes parang nagiging boring ang pagkain niya so she’ll stand or play or do something else.  So in the end, sinusubuan pa rin sya.  But at least she knows how to eat by herself na.

She can also take a bath by herself (hurray!)  We usually take a bath together on mornings she has class.  We I did this weekend, I put some water on her tabo (she prefers tabo, ayaw ng shower).  Surprisingly, binuhos niya sa kanya ung water.  Usually kasi ayaw niya muna mabasa ng water.  So I let her continue by telling her to get some shampoo then soap.  Afterwards, sya na nagpapaligo sakin.  Kinuha niya ung shower at sya nagbanlaw sakin..big girl!

Identifying colors.  The first color she was able to identify was blue.  Puro blue ang alam niya before.  Then nadagdag ang red.  Today, she can identify black and yellow.  Minsan nga naiisip ko, hindi kaya color blind si Ria.  But I know she can’t learn that fast, she’s only 2.

Identifying shapes.  She knows the basic ones like square, circle, triangle, star, moon.

Around her.  She knows taxi, car, bus, train.  She can identify things around her.  She can even remember particular event in a certain place (bumili ng ganyan, ganto, etc)

Most of the time, we exercise her brain by asking what color is the car, etc.  Dann also asks the letters they see on our way home.  Sometimes, pati ung sa taxi, ung nakapaint sa loob na plate number, tel number at name ng taxi eh tinatanong niya.  She can identify some letters, but not all.

She can also wear her shoes on her own.  Wag lang ung may sintas, di pa niya kaya. hehe

Marunong na rin sya magslide on her own.  Basta wag lang mataas, she’s still afraid pag mataas.  She knows how to use the seesaw.

Her likes and interests

She likes to paint.  One time, Ms. Lexie told us that Ria approached her and told her she wanted to paint.  That was the first time she was left alone the classroom in UAP.  She also prefers approaching adults (particularly her teachers..hmmmm,,early sign ito..hehe) instead of other kids (like her classmates).

She likes to scribble but she prefers pen.  When she’s in my office, she always asks for pen and paper.  Pero usually, gagawin niyang gift daw chaka ibibigay sakin.  Ifofold niya ung paper tapos lalagyan ng tape.

Ipod and cellphone! Oh yes, adik sya sa gadgets.  Minsan magtatampo pa yan pag wala syang hawak.  Pero we limit her time spent on gadgets.  We like her to play with her toys and not the gadgets din.

She likes books.  Although she can’t read, she likes to flip the pages of the books.  Minsan tig-isa kmi ng book, binabasahan ko sya tapos sya tumitingin ng ibang book.  Tapos pag tapos na niya tingnan, tapos na raw..ayaw na rin niya makinig sa story na binabasa ko.hehe
