So it is the time of the year again when proud parents are showcasing their kids’ achievement for the school year. Don’t get me wrong, the kids deserve to be recognized for all their hard work for the past 10 months.
Our Graduate
We can say, “Nakapagpagraduate na kami…ng prep.” Haha. Well, our Ria is now moving to the next chapter of her life…BIG SCHOOL! We are hoping that we are making the correct choice of enrolling her to the school very near our house.
For sure, Ria will miss her classmates and teachers, especially those who have been with her for the past four years. She will surely miss dancing twice a year, playing while learning, and having the most awesome teachers she could have.
For us, it does not matter if Ria will graduate with honors. It was a plus. We were actually joking at the beginning of the school year that Ria will surely get an award…Loyalty Award. 🙂
But for us, as long as we know that she did her best, we did our best, then graduating is enough. We were not competitive whatsoever. We did not pressure Ria to study hard. In one quarter, we tested her if she can study on her own. It was when she became top 2 (from top 1 for the 2 previous quarters). Her teachers and other parents were shocked as she is known to be the smartest student in her batch (for consistently receiving the academic achievement award – top of the class – for the past 3 years). Some parents seen her grow and her teachers witnessed her transformation from the super shy student to a bossy one (Haha! But she was actually like that according to her teachers).
Aside from being the valedictorian, she received the Best in Literature Award and Loyalty Award. She asked us, “What is Literature?” Haha. Ibalik ang award! 😀

The Valedictorian of Class 2016-2017
Some parents know her as the shy and timid little girl. Well, she WAS. Not until she reached Jr. Kinder. She suddenly opened up to other people and became friendlier with other kids.
Of course, Yuri became part of her preschool. 🙂 They were “love team” since Sr. Nursery.
And she met a lot of friends along the way.
Overall
For the 4 years of Ria’s stay at Learn and Play, we are very happy with her developments. The curriculum was advanced. Name it. They studied the solar system, body systems, map reading, multiplication, addition and subtraction with regrouping in three digits, etc. We were surprised that she managed to take them all swiftly, with flying colors.
We are very proud of our little girl, Ria. But remember that awards cannot measure success. Success comes from within. Success can be measured by how contented you are with your life.

Academic Achiever Award certificates for 3 years plus her medals (including Sports Fest) for 4 years (missing: Best in Literature)
Congrats Ria! 🙂
Thank you Teacher Janette (school owner), Teacher Au, Teacher Jam, Teacher Jaena, and Teacher Glory for being part of Ria’s development. We are very happy with what she has become because of Learn and Play. Learning thru Playing is really effective. 🙂
