wanting the best education for my child

I remember one time, while Dann and I were on our way home, nasa terminal kami sa Megamall, a guy and a girl were in front of us.  They were talking:

Girl: so anong ginagawa mo ngayon?

Yes, as early as now, Dann and I are already looking for the best school where we will enroll our super kulit daughter Ria.  Education, particularly pre-school, is super pricey now.  We are checking the fees so we can plan Ria’s preschool.  Syempre, once we enroll her, direcho na til Kinder 2 (or Prep).  And with our combined income now, we have (more or less) an idea on how much we can set aside for her schooling.

We saw an international pre-school near UA&P, just near our office so we can teach her after her school (well, that’s what we want as much as possible).  We asked for their rates and for Senior Nursery, tumataginting na 76k for tuition alone.  Plus more or less 15k for miscellaneous, books, school supplies, etc.  Pero we like the school, their curriculum, the way they teach the kids, their method of teaching, their rooms, kids’ activities (imagine, Senior Nursery pa lang may weather na at parts of the plants!).  They use progressive method and that’s what I look for when searching for schools.  Ok, so 76k a year and probably it will increase when Ria’s about to start.  So the question is, can we make it?  Sabi ko nga, if we’ll send her to that school, kalimutan muna ang pagiipon for house and lot and sasakyan.  hehe..

The next school, Xye’s school.  Around P40k plus per year with traditional teaching.  It’s actually our school (me and my sisters) so imagine how old that school is. 🙂  Yung teacher nga ni Xye e teacher din namin nung Nursery..so I guess ok naman ang education dun..hehe 🙂

Another school is within Marikina rin.  The fee is around P70k per year but it includes everything like school supplies, uniform and field trip.  It is also a progressive school and receives a lot of commendations from parents.  It is highly recommended by parents in Marikina.

See, pre-school is super expensive.  Then out of nowhere, I computed how much we are spending for milk.  My gahd, P36k per year.  Onti na lang pang tuition na sa school ni Xye.  And then sa diaper, around P15k per year.  So pag puro solids na lng si Ria and marunong na siya magpoo-poo independently, pwede na namin sya mapaaral sa international preschool..hehe 🙂

So going back to the story of the chill chill guy, mahirap magpaaral ng anak..it’s so expensive and I know that our parents are trying their best to send us to a decent school.  Tapos, may mga nagloloko lang.  I’ve got a new perspective na now that I am planning my kid’s future.  I can feel my parents’ worry before nung nag-aaral pa lang kami.  Kaya naman, sana si Ria e on time grumaduate.  hehe 🙂
